New Edge Networks CEO Hosts Seminar Series for Tapping Multi-Site Networks Revolution

30 August 2004

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Aug. 30, 2004 -- The chief executive of New Edge Networks, a national multi-site data networks and Internet access for businesses and communications carriers, is hosting a series of cross-country business seminars encouraging communications resellers how to tap into lucrative multi-site private broadband networks.

Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge Networks, will lead 18 educational seminars in 11 major cities throughout September targeting current and prospective selling partners. These include value added resellers (VAR), independent selling organizations (ISO), and systems integrators that provide various software and hardware solutions to business customers. Registration for the four-hour seminar is limited to first come first serve.

"The telecommunications industry is now in the very early stages of virtual private network (VPN) rollouts," Moffat said. "This is the ground floor of a VPN revolution for business networking. Our seminars will help communications providers shift their business focus and create sustainable competitive advantages."

According to independent research estimates, broadband wide area networking is a $22 billion market opportunity. This includes $12 billion of traditional frame relay revenue and an estimated $10 billion of multi-site dial-up potential.

"It is our belief that strong demand for wide area networks coupled with increasing complexity creates great opportunity for New Edge Networks and our partners," Moffat said. "Telecommunications is an essential service. Customers must have network solutions that span multiple geographies, carriers, and technologies."

At each session, Moffat and New Edge Networks marketing representatives will make a business case for selling multi-site networks. Participants will hear why selling VPN services puts them in the right place at the right time; why selling VPN services is more lucrative than selling VPN appliances, and what areas to focus. Participants also will learn how to build networks using a simple "brick by brick" methodology.

New Edge Networks operates the largest broadband network in the country. It can deliver various broadband access options at virtually every business address in the United States. Its DSL reach encompasses almost 9,000 central offices or about 90 percent of all central offices equipped for DSL today. It also operates a nationwide frame relay network. New Edge is the underlying carrier for broadband connectivity for most long distance companies, regional bell operating companies, and other independent communications providers.
