(Nasdaq:RBAK), a leading provider of next-generation broadband networking systems, today announced that Scarlet is expanding the reach and capacity of its broadband network with next-generation platforms from Redback Networks. The Redback(R) SmartEdge(R) platform enables Scarlet to expand its broadband network to strengthen its position in a competitive market and simultaneously meet the growing needs of consumers and businesses while maintaining very high reliability and flexibility for the introduction of new services. The existing Scarlet broadband network is based on Redback SMS(TM) 10000 systems.
