Global Crossing Delivers Flexible, Scalable, IP-Ready Global Layer 2 WAN

22 November 2004

Florham Park, NJ -- Nov 22, 2004 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) today announced immediate availability of OneConnect™ Private Line, a flexible, flat-rate, high-bandwidth "fan out" solution with global reach, enabling migration of large, high-capacity private-line networks to a simpler, cost-effective and easily-managed topology.

Global Crossing OneConnect Private Line service enables a customer to connect to Global Crossing's worldwide network via DS3/E3 to OC48/STM16 access from a single location or hub and to "fan out" connections to other global locations with variable bandwidth options including T1/E1, DS3/E3, OC3/STM1 and OC12/STM4 interfaces. OneConnect service is available today to customers at a flat monthly rate, exclusive of endpoint local access charges.

"OneConnect is a simple, elegant solution for customers who need dedicated private line global connectivity in a hub-and-spoke model, yet desire the flexibility and cost savings of a shared VPN network," said Anthony Christie, Global Crossing's chief marketing officer. "The service can be configured to supply each spoke location with the necessary private line speed required for voice and data traffic, enabling customers to optimize bandwidth to each location, rapidly deploying additional private lines as needed."

Customers benefiting from this new offer include broadcast media, governments, research and educational groups, and other enterprises seeking to expand or consolidate existing hub-and-spoke wide-area networks. OneConnect can be part of a plan to migrate to Global Crossing IP VPN service, and is an ideal "stepping stone" solution, because bandwidth on its access connections can be segmented to provide IP VPN connectivity and secure access to Global Crossing converged IP services, including dedicated Internet access, VoIP and IP Video.

"Global Crossing is focused on delivering IP services, and OneConnect provides a seamless migration path towards an IP solution when the customer is ready," says Christie. "Customers will recognize the advantages we offer since our Private Line and IP VPN platforms are fully interconnected, and we can support a phased evolution combining IP VPN and private networking on the same access connections."

OneConnect runs on Global Crossing's worldwide optical network, interconnected with Global Crossing's MPLS-based IP network, enabling evolution to fully converged IP network solutions.
