Herndon, VA -- Nov 23, 2004 -- Today, SWsoft, the established leader in hosting automation and server virtualization software, announced the availability of Virtuozzo for Windows Beta, a unique server virtualization solution that creates multiple isolated Virtual Private Servers (VPSs) on a single physical server to share hardware, software licenses and management with maximum possible efficiency. The Release Candidate (RC1) for Virtuozzo for Windows will be available in December, 2004 with the final release due in early 2005.
“Consolidating server infrastructure and dynamically provisioning virtual learning environments is a key element of the Hatsize's TrueLab(tm) technology and delivering world-class distance learning capabilities is a top priority when investigating server virtualization options,” said Dean Hardy, President, Hatsize Learning Corporation. “SWsoft’s Virtuozzo quickly impressed us with its ability to work within the TrueLab(tm) environment to dynamically provision class machines, while at the same time reducing OS software licensing and management costs.”
“Our approach brings to market a unique architecture that maximizes server resources because each VPS resides on a common shared OS with near-zero overhead,” said Serguei Beloussov, CEO, SWsoft. “Virtuozzo for Windows brings all of our proven capabilities of Virtuozzo for Linux to the Microsoft platform including advanced resource management, isolation, security, comprehensive tools and more.”
Virtuozzo empowers enterprises and service providers to keep up with the increasing demands on IT infrastructure and management by providing the most scalable Windows 2003 virtualization solution available including support for up to 16 CPUs and 64 GB of memory. Customers can leverage Virtuozzo for server consolidation, departmental specific servers, development and testing, managing application growth, minimizing downtime and patch management.
“Enterprises and service providers who use Virtuozzo for Windows will benefit not only from clear cost savings but also from increased reliability and flexibility,” Kurt Daniel, director of marketing. “It is now possible to provision servers in minutes, migrate VPSs quickly, maintain SLAs, and automate routine tasks such as updates and upgrades.”
In addition, SWsoft offers the Virtuozzo Management Console (VZMC), a powerful and complete centralized systems administrator management tool, as well as browser-based self-management Virtuozzo Power Panels (VZPP) for use by VPS owners.
