Global Crossing Wins Product Differentiation Innovation Award

21 June 2005

London -- June 21, 2005 -- Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company that serves emerging and Global 1000 companies along with the investment community, today announced that Global Crossing's iVideoconferencing service has been awarded the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Product Differentiation Innovation Award for the European market.

Frost & Sullivan recognized the market impact that iVideoconferencing has had in enabling ISDN users in Europe and abroad to benefit from IP technology today. Global Crossing's iVideoconferencing is a toll bypass solution for international ISDN calls that leverages Global Crossing's IP backbone. Customers report experiencing better reliability and performance on video calls than traditional ISDN-originated connections, while enjoying between 40 and 70 percent savings for their videoconferences. iVideoconferencing also provides a logical migration path to enable organizations to transition to an all IP-solution at their own pace.

According to Frost & Sullivan, "Europe is hovering at the threshold of the IP transition, and Global Crossing's iVideoconferencing service will be a catalyst for the next growth phase in IP. the European market today requires this type of offering as an interim solution to IP, given that the region has adopted IP more slowly than the U.S. market. With Global Crossing's video conferencing solution, customers are able to easily and gradually make the transition from ISDN to IP video conferencing."

Using iVideoconferencing's unique service platform, ISDN calls are placed directly on Global Crossing's private IP backbone rather than on the public switched telephone network (PSTN). All pre-call set arrangements, whether they are point-to-point or multi-point, are handled by a team of highly qualified staff.

Global Crossing's iVideoconferencing service leverages the company's IP network by seamlessly transports calls originating on ISDN over that network, enabling fewer "hops," enhanced quality and reliability. Using a single network path ensures consistently high quality performance for video calls.

Global Crossing's iVideoconferencing service offers customers a logical and effortless migration path to an all-IP solution, even while using traditional ISDN networks and existing H.320 video equipment.
