AT&T Wins Global Network Contract with Czech Airlines

Prague, Czech Republic -- Sept 12, 2005 -- AT&T today announced that it has won a $2.7 million, three-year contract with Czech Airlines, the Czech national airline to provide its global data network.

The AT&T MPLS-based IP-VPN service will link 80 locations in Europe, North America and Asia.

Czech Airlines will use the network to connect locations such as local sales offices, airport ticket and check in desks and cargo facilities across Europe and North America and allow for the transfer of data such as passenger bookings, cargo manifests and technical information in real time, so aiding efficient and cost effective inter-company communications.

The combination of reduced cost, greater reliability and more flexibility is designed to offer the airline a competitive advantage in the highly competitive air transport sector and was central to the selection of AT&T by Czech Airlines.

AT&T’s Global Network provides customers such as Czech Airlines with the capability of a fully managed IP-based network, ensuring the security, flexibility and class of service, allowing the airline to prioritise different types of traffic over the same network infrastructure.
