Globat.com Launches Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com to Raise Money for Katrina Victims
26 September 2005
LOS ANGELES, -- Sept. 26, 2005 -- Los Angeles-based Globat.com®, the world-leader in Performance Web Hosting(TM), today announced the launch of Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com, a site dedicated to raising $1 million for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The site is managed by the Globat Foundation, a non-profit division of Globat.com dedicated to promoting good causes and helping those in need.
"At Globat, we take charity seriously," said Ben R. Neumann, President and CEO of Globat.com. "We contributed man-power and money to our 'Feed the Homeless' campaign last Christmas, and made donations to the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund. With Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com we see our biggest opportunity yet for helping thousands of people whose lives have been ruined by our country's worst natural disaster in living memory."
Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com is a spin-off of the MillionDollarHomePage.com concept developed by Alex Tew, a 21-year-old British entrepreneur, which has raised over $150,000 towards Alex's university education so far. Like the original, Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com sells pixels of advertising space on its front page for one dollar each, in blocks of 100. Globat Foundation's Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com is the first dedicated to a charitable cause and as such believes to make Internet history along with substantial exposure for its supporters.
Globat.com was one of the first companies to financially support Tew's concept, and expects it's Million-Dollar-Help-Page.com to take Tew's idea to the next level in the U.S. and world-wide. "Globat.com was very quick to support my efforts to become the first Internet pixel millionaire, and I appreciate their dedication to support creative entrepreneurs," said Alex Tew.
