CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dec 15, 2005 -- Peak 10, the Southeast's leading data center operator and managed services provider, today announced plans to build a second data center at its headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. As a result of the expansion, Peak 10 will own and operate seven world-class data centers spread throughout the Southeast.
"The addition of the new data center in Charlotte strengthens our presence in a significant market for our company," said David H. Jones, president and chief executive officer of Peak 10. "With three data center expansion projects since the beginning of 2005, we are responding to customer growth and the increased demand for outsourced IT services in a significant way. Our facility enhancements address future growth and hardware technology solutions, as well as adding another layer of infrastructure capabilities and services to our current facilities. Peak 10 will continue to pursue expansion opportunities both organically and through acquisition."
The building of Peak 10's second Charlotte data center follows successful expansions in its Raleigh, N.C. and Louisville, Ky. markets earlier this year. Peak 10 continues to aggressively expand its operations to capitalize on its success and the growing demand for infrastructure hosting and high-end managed services nationwide. The new Charlotte data center, which is expected to be completed in late second quarter of 2006, will expand Peak 10's North Carolina footprint by 14,000 square feet.
"The new Charlotte data center re-affirms our commitment to the Charlotte market and the success that we've had to date," said Patrick J. O'Brien, vice president and general manager of Peak 10 Charlotte. "It gives Peak 10 the ability to continue to offer area businesses the freedom to focus more on their core business, instead of the technology and management functions required to keep today's infrastructure and applications secure and available."
Peak 10 enables companies to lower costs, improve service levels, meet regulatory compliance and increase revenue growth by maximizing internal IT resources and insuring the security and availability of complex technology infrastructure. The company offers customers the advantages of owning their own data center and the benefits of outsourcing to an industry leader. Peak 10 owns and operates data centers in Raleigh, Charlotte, Louisville, and Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla.
