TeleCity Launches Managed Security Service

TeleCity, the award-winning European provider of colocation and data centre services, is launching a cost effective, outsourced security service for companies hosted in its London data centres. The new offering includes 24x7 monitoring and management of network infrastructure.

The Managed Service provides increased security on company firewalls and Virtual Private Networks with 24x7 visibility and support. TeleCity is deploying ICSA certified, ASIC accelerated FortiGate Antivirus Firewalls from Fortinet, which provide high-speed SMTP and HTTP Anti Virus Protection System with real time updates that will offer ongoing protection. Specifically, the new service includes the following capabilities:
Email and Web content filtering including Anti Virus scanning
Intrusion detection
Content protection
Perimeter protection and secure remote access
24x7 vigilance and management capabilities
Access to highly skilled security experts
With the managed security offering, TeleCity is enabling companies to have a fully-managed firewall service without having to recruit network security experts to run it. The Service has already attracted customers from the VOIP, media and content portal sectors. It has been launched in TeleCity’s UK data centres and the intention is to roll the service out across its European network in 2004.
