StoreNext Adds Item Hosting to Connected Services Online Application Suite
1 March 2004
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2004-- Wholesalers, small chains and independent grocers can now manage entire item files - including pricing and promotions - from one central location through Connected Item Hosting, a new Web-based, Connected Services(TM) application from StoreNext Retail Technologies LLC.
Connected Item Hosting will be demonstrated at the 2004 Marketechnics show, sponsored by the Food Marketing Institute, Feb. 29 - March 2, 2004, at San Francisco's Moscone Center, Booth 1202.
"With StoreNext's Connected Item Hosting, independent grocers can now benefit from the same type of centralized item management that large chains use," said Ray Carlin, StoreNext's president and chief executive officer. "Connected Item Hosting offers easy, affordable and secure online access to a multitude of data center applications. It allows independent grocers to access pricing, promotions, vendor or myriad other data anytime and anywhere. There's no need for the chain to create its own expensive hosting data center."
Fully integrated with StoreNext's ISS45 point-of-sale (POS) platform, Connected Item Hosting supports all the major data components, including the item file, price file, promotions engine and more. It also supports the entire life cycle of an item or promotion, from creation, to pricing, to final chain-store distribution.
Connected Item Hosting acts as the master item catalog and manages UPC files across every store in the chain. It serves as a data repository for other Connected Services modules, including Reporting, Sales Analysis, Report Viewer and Electronic Journal. The application also improves business processes by allowing users to configure different working methods to fit every individual task performed.
The Connected Services application suite, including Item Hosting, can be ordered on a subscription basis from StoreNext dealers.
