TeleCity Announces Scandinavian Customer Wins

30 April 2004

London, 30 April 2004, TeleCity (TCY.L), the leading European provider of colocation and data centre services, today announces a series of agreements with new customers at its Stockholm facility in Sweden.

The new customers are a range of both large multinational organisations and smaller, local operators and include TDC, Finnet, Lan International and CallToAll. The decision by these organisations to host infrastructure at TeleCity demonstrates the continued resurgence of the ICT sector across Scandinavia and the ongoing need for high quality, resilient and secure data centre services as provided by TeleCity.

TDC (www.Tdc.com) (formerly Tele Danmark) is Denmark's leading telecom provider and has chosen TeleCity Stockholm to provide it with colocation and network services as part of the ongoing development of its presence in the Swedish market. John Pedersen, Director of TDC Sweden explains the motives for choosing TeleCity: “TeleCity offers high levels of resilience combined with considerable technical expertise. They also have a considerable number of bandwidth-hungry customers in their facilities who offer further opportunities for our business.”

CallToAll (www.calltoall.fi) is a new Finnish voice operator offering prepaid voice solutions to the Scandinavian and Eastern European consumer markets. Gill Virtanen Paivi, Director of calltoall said: “The presence of so many international operators at TeleCity offered us an extensive choice of Tier 1 and Tier 2 carrier networks for the routing and termination of our traffic at fantastic prices.”

Lan International, part of the Itera Consulting Group (www.iteraconsulting.com), is a leading Swedish IT consultancy specialising in the design, installation and operation of IT-infrastructure for small and medium sized businesses across Scandinavia. “TeleCity offers us a great base for us to develop and build business for our own customers. We know that their infrastructure will not let us down, and their engineers ensured our deployment was trouble-free,” said Valentino Berti, Managing Director of Lan International.

Finnet International (www.finnetinternational.fi), part of the Finnish Elisa group, is an international telecommunications company that offers voice, mobile, data and Internet services. Operating mainly in Finland, their new presence at TeleCity will form part of their international core network and support the growth of their ISP, data and voice businesses. “TeleCity’s knowledge and experience of our industry sector made them the obvious choice for us when choosing an additional location for our infrastructure in Stockholm,” said Petri Pietiläinen, Director of Finnet International. “TeleCity’s facility offers a level of network resilience and connectivity unmatched in Stockholm, and one which helps us offer better service to our own customers who are looking to place networks and content increasingly closer together.”

“While TeleCity continues to make solid progress in the enterprise and public sector markets in Scandinavia, these new contract wins are an encouraging sign that there is still growing demand for our services supporting the more ‘traditional’ customer sectors of communications service provision and IT infrastructure management,” said Niclas Sanfridsson, TeleCity Sweden Country Manager. “We are very happy that these organisations have chosen TeleCity for data centre infrastructure support.”
