AT&T Wins $18 Million Networking Contract From InterActiveCorp
26 May 2004
NEW YORK -- IAC/InterActiveCorp, the world's leading multi-brand interactive commerce company, has awarded AT&T a three-year, $18 million networking contract to consolidate and integrate communications capabilities for its brands. IAC is best known for popular consumer brands Ticketmaster, HSN, Hotels.com, Expedia, Citysearch, Match.com, LendingTree, and Hotwire.com.
AT&T will provide an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) solution that supports an e-commerce platform integrating communications among IAC subsidiaries, affiliates and suppliers. It also provides consumers with enhanced high-speed online and telephone access to IAC companies.
"We're a rapidly growing company, and all of our businesses place a premium on providing an excellent customer experience," said Jason Stewart, Vice President of Operations for IAC. "The quality and reliability of AT&T's services will help us maintain our practice of satisfying consumers even as we improve service and reduce costs."
The AT&T solution, based on IP-Enabled Frame Relay and ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), integrates IAC's data and voice traffic onto a high-speed IP networking platform. AT&T will provide IAC a full range of services -- including national local phone service, domestic and international long-distance and private-line services, inbound and outbound contact center services, and Business Internet Access Service.
The secure solution integrates IAC contact centers located in the United States, Europe and Asia, and also provides redundancy to support IAC's business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
The contract renews and expands a long-standing relationship between the two companies and illustrates AT&T's commitment to deliver high-value enterprise and application networking solutions. It also consolidates into a single master agreement more than 20 individual services contracts with IAC subsidiaries, providing simplified account management and greater discounts across the service portfolio. In aggregate, the AT&T solution creates economies of scale that could save IAC more than $10 million over the life of the contract.
AT&T recently received an award for business local phone service customer satisfaction from J.D. Power and Associates. Local voice business customers ranked AT&T highest in a number of key areas -- offerings and promotions, cost of service, performance and reliability, sales representatives billing, and company image.
