IBM to Service and Support Leader in IP Storage Area Networks Intransa

2 June 2004

ARMONK, N.Y. and SAN JOSE, Calif., -- June 2 -- Intransa Inc., the global leader in intelligent IP Storage Area Network (SAN) data storage, today announced a contract with IBM Global Services (NYSE: IBM) to provide technical support and warranty repair for Intransa customers, first in the U.S., then worldwide as the company expands into new markets.

"IBM's global service delivery resources will help us provide our customer with exceptional service, including next business day or 24/7 expedited repair services," said Udi Paret, vice president, Global Operations, Intransa. "IBM Global Services, the quality standard for product support services, will provide tremendous benefits to Intransa's customers."

"IBM is uniquely positioned to provide these types of support services given our own experience in providing support to our employees worldwide as well as hundreds of companies in many different industries," said Mike Wiley, general manager, Integrated Technology Services, IBM Global Services. "We can apply consulting methodologies from IBM Business Consulting Services, tap into our Intellectual Property and leverage expert capabilities in technical support. We view this area as a natural opportunity for growth, given our built-in infrastructure and global expertise."

As part of the agreement, IBM Global Services will manage Intransa's spare parts in their logistics network to speed and facilitate warranty repairs. This agreement will not directly affect customers who purchased their equipment maintenance from a Value-Added Reseller (VAR), which will continue to be responsible for warranty repair. However, the agreement with IBM will provide for a parts courier service to deliver needed parts to third parties, such as VARs, on behalf of Intransa to conduct required warranty repairs.

The delivery of these services is expected to begin in the June/July timeframe. The agreement with IBM Global Services is expected to take effect beginning in June, 2004.
