ANDOVER, MA--Enterasys Networks Inc. (NYSE: ETS), the Secure Networks CompanyTM, today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Gheraldi as vice president of sales for the Americas. Reporting to Michael Rivers, executive vice president of worldwide sales and service, Gheraldi leads Enterasys' Secure NetworksTM direct sales efforts in the United States, Canada, and Central and Latin America.
Gheraldi brings to his new position substantial enterprise and carrier sales management experience in the data IP networking and communications industries. He joins Enterasys after more than 10 years with Nortel Networks, including several years with the former Bay Networks and Wellfleet Communications organizations. Most recently, he served as Nortel's global major account vice president and was responsible for the AT&T business relationship. In that role, he worked closely with AT&T sales management to drive optical, data and VoIP managed services into AT&T's large base of customers. Previously, he was global major account vice president responsible for the XO Communications business.
Gheraldi began his career in the financial services industry—a key vertical market for Enterasys—first with JP Morgan and later Goldman Sachs. He gained expertise in the planning and deployment of large, critical data networking infrastructures through his work as a manager of the firms' IT organizations.
