Redbus Interhouse (UK) Ltd, the UK division of Europe’s most advanced, independent colocation and managed services provider, announced its 650th customer, RapidHost, a corporate web hosting company, and that its managed service portfolio has grown by 100% in the past year – it now accounts for approximately 12% of the company’s monthly recurring revenue.
John Ellis-Mourant, General Manager, RapidHost Ltd, said: “We needed a presence in the heart of London to be able to peer and utilise BGP, which allows us to offer greater resilience and connectivity speed to our customers and to provide geographically load-balanced services. We looked at a number of colocation companies, but selected Redbus Interhouse as no-one else could offer a comparable, all round package. Redbus Interhouse is a recognised quality brand that gives our own clients the same high level of confidence it gives us. The company’s reputation is excellent and, throughout our negotiations and dealings with them, that view has only been repeatedly reinforced.”
Redbus Interhouse (UK) Ltd has helped RapidHost, which specialises in database-driven websites, to seamlessly move 80 of its servers – a live data centre – into one of Redbus Interhouse’s facilities in London’s Docklands. Despite very careful planning, RapidHost was, for obvious reasons, apprehensive about the move, but the outstanding service of Redbus Interhouse’s staff ensured a painfree transition.
Ellis-Mourant commented: “We’ve received superb service from all the Redbus staff, who have gone well above and beyond the normal level of ‘good’ customer care and have made our integration into Redbus Interhouse a smooth and apparently effortless exercise.”
Simon Neal, UK Country Manager, Redbus Interhouse (UK) Ltd, commented: “We’re delighted that RapidHost has chosen Redbus Interhouse to house and manage its servers and look forward to delivering and, where possible, exceeding their service level expectations. The signing of the contract is also a significant milestone for Redbus Interhouse as RapidHost is the 650th customer contract we’ve won and the 233rd this year – our best year to date! With over 60 ISPs and telcos, Redbus Interhouse is well positioned to offer its customers a totally integrated colocation service.”
Redbus Interhouse has experienced record growth throughout the group in the past year, achieved not only in difficult economic circumstances, but also in spite of two unsuccessful EGMs called by a major shareholder to remove the Board.
Following a number of management changes, including the appointment of Mike Tobin as CEO, Redbus Interhouse has achieved a dramatic EBITDA improvement of over 73%, including a 24% increase in turnover for 2002. 2003 has continued in the same vein. The company has also recruited additional engineers to ensure that its customers continue to receive the high level of service Redbus Interhouse provides them.
Neal continued: “Despite the current climate and the disruption caused by the EGMs, we are bucking the industry trend. Our sales have increased by 19%, there has been an 100% increase in take up of our managed services offering and the trend looks set to continue.”
