Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Hostway for Customer Value Enhancement Award in the Web Hosting Industry
15 July 2004
BOSTON -- July 15, 2004 -- Frost & Sullivan presented its 2004 Customer Value Enhancement Award in the Web hosting industry to Hostway Corporation for its ability to expand its customer base with innovative value creation and enhancement strategies that are unsurpassed by the competition.
Frost & Sullivan grants this award to a company recognizing its successful sales entry, customer acquisition and service strategies, and the degree to which those strategies have met customer needs. Such innovation is expected to significantly improve customer interaction and contribute to customer satisfaction.
The privately held Hostway Corporation has successfully endured a multi-year Web hosting industry slump while its competitors are only just beginning to recover from the downturn. In the last two years, Hostway has expanded beyond U.S. borders into international markets with revenue growth potential in the small and medium enterprises (SME) shared hosting market, which is the core competency of Hostway.
"As a result of carefully planned acquisitions, Hostway has been able to increase its customer base in excess of 200,000 accounts without losing focus on the importance of high-quality service and customer retention," observes Frost & Sullivan industry analyst Jarad Carleton.
Hostway recognized early on that the key to effectively serving the SME hosting market was providing small businesses with the tools they need to have a successful Web presence.
This led to the development of special instructional tools for publishing Web pages, getting domain names, setting up e-mail and a variety of Web seminars on topics, such as how to effectively market a Web site and make the best use of a Web presence.
Hostway's efforts make Web hosting easy and affordable for the SME market and have paid off for the company with some of the lowest churn rates in the industry. However, instead of resting on its laurels, the management team consistently solicits customer feedback in an effort to drive down the churn rate further.
The global success of the company has attracted the attention of an increasing number of competitors interested in emulating Hostway's formula, but Hostway executives have not made that task an easy one.
With each year, Hostway management finds additional ways to raise the bar for its hosting service in order to increase value for established and new customers. In the process, they make it increasingly difficult for competitors to keep up.
"Hostway is, without doubt, a strong and rising star in the SME hosting market and one to watch for in the years to come," notes Carleton.
Held in Boston, the Frost & Sullivan banquet honored world-class companies for outstanding performance and achievements in industrial technologies. An annual event, the banquet recognized the quality and merit of distinguished individuals and companies.
