With Strong New Leadership, Inflow-Portland Reports Success at its Three-Year Milestone; Renewed Market Interest in Hosting Brings New Prospects to Portland IDC
29 October 2003
PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2003--Today, Inflow, Inc., a leading provider of application hosting and outsourced IT services, announced the third anniversary milestone of its Inflow-Portland Internet Data Center (IDC). The Portland IDC opened on November 1, 2000.
Signs of renewed interest in complex application hosting and business continuance solutions within the Portland market and the gradual departure of previously formidable competitors from the industry has resulted in more customers and interested prospects for Inflow's Portland data center, which currently supports 43 customers including Learning.com, Unicru, Web MD and Vestcom International. Russ Kuhn, general manager for Inflow-Portland, attributes the increased interest in Inflow to the company's national reputation for stability, an expansive U.S. footprint, dedication to process including ISO certification, and a very solid financial standing.
"At our three-year anniversary, Inflow-Portland is standing in a very enviable position within our market," said Kuhn. "We have a loyal customer base that is very happy with the solutions and service we provide, and we continually receive inquiries from interested prospects. We will continue to work hard to satisfy our customers and provide the best solutions in the industry."
Kuhn was recently appointed the new general manager for the Portland IDC, bringing 14 years of experience to the position from the Navy and high-tech sectors. Kuhn currently manages all aspects of the Portland facility including 12 employees, 11,500 square feet of raised floor, and over $2.7 million in annualized revenues. A graduate of Iowa State University, Kuhn's strong leadership and vision has already produced positive results.
Inflow has secured a strong operational and fiscal position in the Portland business sector. The IDC continues a 99.999% uptime record, which it has maintained for 36 straight months, and has steadily driven up revenue - this month alone, the IDC has increased revenues by 8%. The Portland facility has achieved operational excellence and has the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the industry, receiving a 9.0 customer satisfaction score in 2003 as rated by independent marketing satisfaction firm, Customer Satisfaction Marketing of Atlanta. The industry average is 8.2. Kuhn attributes the IDC's performance to his staff.
"Our success is a direct result of the entire team," Kuhn said. "This team is successful because the customer is our sole focus. This team truly cares about the customer, and that produces results."
With only a handful of complex application hosting providers to choose from, an increasing number of Portland customers are recognizing Inflow as the optimal choice for their critical application needs.
"Many providers we evaluated were only five or ten percent filled and were telling us, 'We're going to be big,'" said David Adler, Chief Technology Officer at Vestcom International. "Inflow had the customer count and representative enterprise customers willing to speak on their behalf, that proved Inflow's prominence in the marketplace."
