Limelight Networks Assists Belo Interactive in Delivering Online Service

TEMPE, Ariz., -- July 30, 2004 -- Tempe-based Limelight Networks, a leading end-to-end digital delivery network, announced that it recently served record-setting streaming traffic in support of existing client Belo Interactive, the Internet subsidiary of Belo Corp., one of the nation's largest media companies with a diversified group of market-leading television, newspaper, cable and interactive media assets. According to Belo Interactive Web statistics, the company saw a 60 percent increase in the number of customers accessing its online streaming video news in the month of June due to national breaking news events. Belo Interactive also saw that streaming video viewing time increased over 100 percent in June.

During live coverage of the funeral service, Limelight Networks delivered more than 12,000 hours of cumulative streaming media for Belo Interactive Web sites including WFAA.com, affiliated with WFAA-TV (ABC affiliate) in Dallas, KHOU.com, affiliated with KHOU-TV (CBS affiliate) in Houston, and KGW.com, affiliated with KGW-TV (NBC affiliate) in Portland.
Belo Interactive has been utilizing Limelight Networks' media delivery platform since the beginning of 2004.
