I currently have a Unix-based based web host but I need to setup another web site requiring ASP that is being designed by someone else. Do I need a Windows web host?

Not necessarily since there is a piece of software called ChilliSoft that can be installed on Unix or Linux based servers to run ASP scripts and applications. However, it is commercial software and you need to check with your web host if they are currently running it - quite a few companies do. If so, you should be fine since I’ve heard of good things about ChilliSoft.

The downside of ChilliSoft is that it emulates a majority of the features found in ASP, and is often lagging behind in the changes Microsoft makes to the scripting language. Also, some ASP developers may employ functions or features found in IIS (Internet Information Server) only.
