Do I still need a merchant account when I use Miva Merchant? |

| A lot of consumers are often confused about the difference between a merchant account and a Miva Merchant. In order to process credit card payments via your website, you still require a merchant account to do this. Miva Merchant is still essentially a sophisticated shopping cart program that manages how products are viewed and sold to your customers. The software can be closely tied to a payment gateway that validates and authenticates a customer’s credit card and then deposit money into your merchant account. This confusion often arises from this close integration and store owners believe the software is a full turnkey solution for its businesses. However, a merchant account is not always required in a Miva Merchant installation since not all store owners accept credit cards but can choose other means of payment, such as, wire transfer or online check. |
