When web hosts describes the limit of disk space or disk storage as part of their web hosting service offerings, it is referring to the amount of space you are allowed to store in your web hosting account. When you upload web site files, for example, HTML pages, images, graphics, scripts and so forth it takes up space on the web server’s hard drive(s). The size of the files you upload into your web hosting will respectively determine how much storage space you will use up.

In most cases, the web hosts will provide a method where you can monitor your disk storage usage either through the web hosting control panel or through other means.
