Does anyone have experience in processing web hosting orders with Paypal? Would you recommend them? |

| With our web hosting business, we accept a number of different payments including all major credit cards and, in the last six months, have begun also with Paypal. About 85% of our client base uses credit cards as the primary form of payment and with the remaining 15% using Paypal. More importantly, almost all the Paypal users are new customers instead of existing clients converting over to Paypal. So, I’m quite pleased with this change as it opens up a new stream of revenue for us.
From our experience with Paypal, I have to say it’s been rather positive. If I have to be critical about its service, then there was one time we had to withdraw a significant amount of funds from our account and it was blocked. However, a quick e-mail and the problem were resolved. Apparently, they have security measures in place when a certain amount of funds were transferred; it was held and investigated before it was released. When we explained our situation with the representative, they raised the fund transfer threshold and it hasn’t been a problem since.
You probably have heard some horror stories with Paypal, as I personally have, but from out perspective it has been more of a reliable partner. If you are concerned, process a small amount of Paypal orders for a couple of month and then determine if it right for your or not.
