I would definitely recommend the guys over at rack911.com to harden your Linux box. My experiences with them have been great especially with Choon. He’s probably one of the most knowledgeable guys I have worked with. His ability to predict problems and implement workarounds has been second to none.

Another nice and handy service they offer is the notifications when patches come out, when it will be installed and what might it impact from the installation. This is a great proactive service that has saved my butt a number of times. I have seen servers that not been patched up properly and seen them turn into spam machines. Not pretty I can tell you.

This also is coming from a guy who has worked as a systems administrator for over five years.
