A quick and simple method of testing the network speed of a network operation center is to trace the Internet route to one of its servers hosted there. This can be done using the traceroute tool in UNIX/LINUX systems or tracert utility in Microsoft Windows. These tools will help you determine the number of ‘hops’ to get to the destination and the time it takes data packets to travel to and from the server. It is also important to test the NOC from multiple locations to get a well-rounded opinion of the network quality.

Host Byte Marketplace also offers a network performance tool that helps evaluate the network quality of servers or web hosts. The tool can be accessed here.
