| There are basically two main methods of processing credit or debit cards for online merchants. One is to use a third party processor that enables an external party to process your customer’s credit cards on your behalf. Second is setting up a merchant account. A merchant account is very similar to any normal bank account but it is used to manage payments from credit cards and checks. The funds held in the merchant account can only be moved to another bank account after a period of time (that is determined by your merchant provider as well). |
