| Since Unix has been established in the marketplace for a long time, it has given businesses and organizations a proven track record with regards to reliability, security and performance. Also, it is build upon a user-driven community, supports open standards, and allows developers to understand the ‘nuts-and-bolts’ of the system to create better applications through interoperability. More importantly, Unix is built from the ground up as a multi-user operating system and has done very little to stray from this path as some other operating systems like Microsoft Windows. |
