Why should I choose to host my web site in a Windows platform or environment?

There are a number of reasons why Windows hosting is more desirable than other platforms under certain circumstances. However, the key reasons is probably because only certain applications and development tools run in a Microsoft environment. For example, software including IIS (Internet Information Server), Microsoft Access, .NET development framework and ASP (Active Scripting Pages). Without Windows, these applications are rendered useless.

Also, if you develop any scripts or applications that required components, such as, ISAPI and COM it is necessary to purchase Windows web hosting.
