Is a virtual private server more secure than a shared web hosting solution? |

| In most cases, depending on how the virtual private server is setup, it is more secure than your typical shared web hosting account. The file system structure in a VPS environment ensures that one user may not view or access files of another user. However, VPS users do share memory, CPU access and bandwidth connectivity but with tight controls. If one user breaks something in his or her file system i.e. kernel rebuild problems or software misconfiguration other VPS users will not be affected. |
