What is domain parking and when is it best to use it?

Domain parking is a term often used to describe a domain that is provisioned for future use. For example, if you have a desired name that you would like to secure for either yourself or your company, but do not necessarily wish to use it immediately; you can park your domain name.

Most domain name registrars allow you the option to park the domain free of charge when you register it and will provide a ‘coming soon’ web page to users who try to access the domain name.
